45-minute of online presentations about certain global issues by both national and international speakers. This Circular Design Futures session will be exploring design as daily practical to solve problems, from material to social structure.

Adi Wibowo is an architect & designer who together with LabTanya, a socio-ecological design studio, which was founded in 2015, initiated the Kota Tanpa Sampah (City Without Trash), which develops various research methods & collective experiments with various communities to push the achievement of a sustainable & minimal or without trash. In 2018, Adi selected to represent SEA in voicing ideas and practices related to circular future at Future Circularity: New Voices in Southeast Asia, Disruptive Innovation Festival, organized by The Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Martin L. Katoppo is founder of Design As Generator (DAG) & Dean School of Design, Universitas Pelita Harapan. He is known for his work Rumah Besi (Steel House) along with his wife, Ruth E. Oppusunggu, co-founder of DAG & Lecturer Interior Design Department School of Design, Universitas Pelita Harapan. Both of them have a big hope in elevating design as a social movement & innovation. Through DAG, they already had several projects in several places, especially in urban kampong – ranging from making design interventions for domestic waste problems, greenery and creative space for children.
